General (ret.) Peter Bartram joins the board and becomes the new Chairman of the Board of MW Group.

On October 1st, General (ret.) Peter Bartram was appointed Chairman of the Board of MW Group after four months as board member. General (ret.) Peter Bartram was Denmark’s Chief of Defence between 2012 – 2017, the youngest ever in Danish history. Following his extensive service in Denmark and NATO (serving in Germany, Poland, and in the US), General Bartram decided to pursue a second career as a professional board member and currently acts as Chairman or Vice-Chairman of several boards. In the beginning of 2022, he will also be appointed as the Chairman of JP/Politikens Hus, the largest privately-owned media group in Denmark.

Our Nordic countries are challenged by a very dynamic set of threats that call for a coordinated and flexible response across both the public and private sectors. We also find ourselves in a digital transformation with tons of opportunities for increased growth. As Chairman of the Board of MW Group, General (ret.) Bartram brings in-depth experience to support MW Groups mission to serve a stronger society. General (ret.) Bartrams addition to the board will be focusing on the co-operation between the defence and civilian industries cross MW Groups five business areas; Field Services, Strategic Advice, Cyber, Unmanned and Defence.

We help public and private customers with cyber security and secure communication, we roll out 5G, solar cells and charging stations, we took part in the Covid-19 testing, and we assist our defence forces with education and training facilities. We are also proud of our UAVs (drones) equipped with modern AI and the possibility they bring to assist forest owners in maximizing their effort, continues General (ret.) Peter Bartram.

Former Chairman of the Board (2017 – 2021), Carl Haglund, former Minister of Defence in Finland and current CEO of Veritas Pension Insurance will continue within MW Group as a Senior Advisor to the CEO.

– It has been incredible to follow MW Group on its journey for these past four years. From when I was appointed as Chairman of the Board, I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished during these years, one highlight is that we have established the company with operations in both Finland and Denmark and as well made a successful transition from the brand Military Work to MW Group. Now, as I direct my focus more solely on other commitments it’s with full confidence and excitement, I hand over the responsibilities as Chairman of the Board to General (ret.) Peter Bartram, says Carl Haglund.
