MW Group invests in Xertified

The Nordic company group, MW Group has, together with several other well-renowned actors on the market – including Combient, who in part of its new venture initiative Combient Catalyst – chosen to invest in the Swedish cyber company Xertified. The company has developed a patented security solution for IoT, IT and OT devices that can be compared to a digital padlock that protects connected devices, such as healthcare technology and industrial robots.

It is estimated that today, more than two billion digital devices within socially critical and industrial environments are currently unsecured. Xertified has developed XoT technology™ – a proprietary and patented hardware and software solution designed, developed, and built in Sweden which places security at the individual and device level rather than the network level. XoT technology™ has been invented to protect everything with an IP address and a standard communications port, such as socially critical infrastructure, industrial robots, and traffic lights from potential intrusions.

MW Group provides services and products which seek to proactively strengthen and protect critical infrastructure. Through its subsidiary MW Cyber, the group is now making this strategic investment in Xertified.

“We live in a connected world and we want to help benefit from the opportunities that the digital world presents to us, without exposing ourselves to the vulnerabilities that go hand in hand with a connected society. I am very pleased to continue our work on this mission to help build a stronger society together with the fantastic team at Xertified and the other investors,” says Mikael Karlsson, CEO and founder of MW Group.

Among the current owners, the CEO of Volvo Group, Martin Lundstedt has also chosen to subscribe for shares in the new issue.

“Together with MW Group, Combient and the new investors, we look forward to further developing our XoT technology™ in order to meet the needs of organisations with extremely high security requirements. In both Combient and MW Group we have found partners who fully supports our strategy and vision through which we work to achieve both a secure society and a competitive industry in Sweden. We have developed our products and solutions to secure all connected devices through unique digital identities and to give our customers full control over who is connected to each piece of equipment,” says Martin Eriksson, CEO and founder of Xertified.

Xertified’s unique security solution has been patented by the EPO, analysed architectonically by RISE (Research Institutes of Sweden) and is subjected to continuous security testing by Orange Cyberdefense.

“In a world with increasing cyber threats, we see a clear need in the industry to secure connected devices both at customers and internally. Xertified has a unique solution that can be applied in many contexts”, says Anders Ösund, VP at Combient.
